Repair & service
terms.

Last reviewed: April 2026

Template notice — certain commercial values in these terms (marked [TO CONFIRM]) must be confirmed by the company before these terms are relied upon commercially. See README.txt.

1. Scope

These terms apply to vehicle inspection, diagnostic, maintenance and repair work carried out by Hasten Repairs Limited ("we", "us") for customers ("you"). They apply once we accept your instruction and you authorise work. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

2. Inspection and diagnostics

Where we inspect or diagnose a vehicle, our findings are based on the examination carried out and the information available at the time. Some faults are intermittent or concealed and may only become apparent during work. Diagnostic findings will be explained to you before repair work proceeds.

3. Estimates and quotations

Where we provide an estimate, it is our reasonable expectation of cost based on the information available. Where we provide a quotation for defined work, we will honour it for that work unless additional issues are found or the scope changes. Estimates and quotations are valid for [TO CONFIRM — validity period] unless stated otherwise.

4. Customer authorisation

No repair work will be carried out without your authorisation. Authorisation may be given in writing (including by email) or by another method we agree with you and record. If additional or different work is found to be needed, we will contact you to explain and seek further authorisation before proceeding.

5. Additional work

If we identify additional work during a repair, we will tell you what we have found, why it matters, and the cost implications. Additional work will only be carried out with your authorisation. If you decline recommended safety-related work, we may ask you to confirm that decision in writing.

6. Parts

We fit parts appropriate to your vehicle and the repair, which may include original equipment, OEM-quality or quality aftermarket parts. We will discuss part options with you where relevant. Parts prices are subject to supplier availability and pricing. Replaced parts will be made available for you to inspect on request, except where parts must be returned to a supplier under an exchange or surcharge arrangement.

7. Vehicle collection and delivery

Arrangements for vehicle drop-off, collection or any recovery will be agreed with you directly when work is booked. The registered office is not a vehicle drop-off location.

8. Payment

Payment terms, accepted payment methods and any deposit requirements will be confirmed when work is agreed. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due on completion of the work and before the vehicle is released. [TO CONFIRM — payment methods, deposit policy, late payment terms]

9. Storage

Vehicles left with us before or after work will be stored with reasonable care. Where a vehicle is not collected within an agreed period after notification of completion, storage arrangements and any associated charges will be discussed with you. [TO CONFIRM — storage period and any charges]

10. Customer property

Please remove personal belongings and valuables from your vehicle before work begins. We cannot accept responsibility for loss of or damage to personal property left in vehicles, except where caused by our negligence.

11. Road testing

Where you authorise work, that authorisation includes road testing of the vehicle where reasonably required for diagnosis or verification of repairs. Vehicles are road tested by appropriately licensed drivers.

12. Delays

We will give you an honest expectation of timescales, but completion times can be affected by parts availability, supplier delays and the nature of the fault. We will keep you informed of material delays. We are not liable for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control.

13. Third-party parts and suppliers

Some work may involve third-party parts or specialist suppliers. We select suppliers with reasonable care but are not responsible for delays or defects originating from third parties, although we will assist you in resolving such issues.

14. Warranties

Workmanship and parts warranty terms will be confirmed in writing when work is agreed. [TO CONFIRM — warranty duration and scope] Any warranty does not affect your statutory rights. Warranties may not apply where a fault results from misuse, unrelated pre-existing issues, or subsequent third-party work.

15. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, contact us at info@hastenrepairs.co.uk with details and your vehicle registration. We will acknowledge and investigate your complaint and aim to resolve it fairly and promptly.

16. Consumer rights

If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights regarding services being carried out with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time and for a reasonable price where not agreed in advance. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.
